Although I'm typically gigging around Chicago, we can always fire up the, Ronnie Don't Call Me Ronnie band in Florida.  I love playing Bert's Bar, Froggy's, Ragged Ass, Jackie's and just about anywhere else on Pine Island.  Winter 2007 will be our third season.

A Band Of Brothers Invade St. James City!

What do you get when you combine one part Chicago Jazz/Blues with two parts Florida Classic Rock and over 45 years of brotherly love? You get the music of, Ronnie Don't Call Me Ronnie, that’s what! This exciting, new band will be debuting their fresh sounds at Froggy’s starting January 20th and featuring three of Mom Brandt’s favorite sons; Ronnie (Don't Call Me Ronnie), Bobby (Don't Call Me Bobby) and Billy (Don't Call Me Billy). While Bob and Bill have been performing in and around Pine Island for the past few years with their band Tripletales, eldest sibling Ron has most recently been busy working in Chicago on the Odyssey Cruise Ship performing for the jazz brunch and dinner cruises. But winter weather in Chicago make the cruise ship a seasonal gig so the idea of putting a band together with his favorite fishing partners in sunny Florida has become a sudden, welcome reality and taken on the life of, Ronnie Don't Call Me Ronnie. Although the Brandt brothers grew up in the same house about 30 miles west of Chicago, their adult careers took them to different parts of the country so they never got to play in a band together ... until now! The instrumentation works out perfectly for the small combo with a big sound. Bill plays drums, Bob on bass, Ron doing guitar / vocal chores and Pine Island's own Brad Rogers (a brother in spirit) on keys / vocals. Ronnie Don't Call Me Ronnie’s eclectic song list cover styles that include rock, pop, blues, jazz, and even reggae. Artists covered range from Jimi Hendrix to James Taylor to James Brown. From Elvis Presley to Elvis Costello. From Maxi Priest to The Reverend Horton Heat. From Thelonius Monk to The Monkees. From Beatles to Eagles and from Queen to Cocker. Plus, they plan to introduce many new songs throughout their steady engagement on the Island. You can see and hear Ronnie Don't Call Me Ronnie every Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Froggy’s in St. James City. The band performs as a trio on Thursdays and then they add Brad for their Friday and Saturday shows. Live music begins at 9:00 PM and ends at 1:00 AM. So my advice is to give Ronnie Don't Call Me Ronnie a try. They'll make you laugh, they'll make you dance, they'll make you sing, they'll make you listen, they'll make you remember, and I've got a feeling they'll make you come back for more!
